I think I've been trying for more than a week to take some star trail and Milky Way shots but the clouds have not been cooperating. In fact, they were a burden during an apparent beautiful aurora display the other night. Well, most of the clouds parted ways tonight so I quickly took these from our laneway. Perhaps with a bit of luck, I'll get a few more opportunities this week for some night shots!

A Piece of the Milky Way

Love these Terri. Lucky you to live where the night isn't all lit up with artificial light! And congrats for making use of that!
ReplyDeleteVery fortunate to live under a fairly 'dark sky' but in my opinion there are too many unnecessary lights on here as well! Drives me crazy! It makes me sad to think that its only a matter of time before the 'dark sky' is no longer.
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing images. Just so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting Thea and thanks for the kind words! I love night photography!!! I need to do more of it!
Deletebeautiful Terri, living 60 miles south of Chicago I never get to see anything that beautiful. Our skys are never totally dark :(
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine the light pollution you must get from Chicago Pam! It makes me sad to think that there are so many people out there that have never experienced a dark sky and the wonders that it hold! We are fortunate to live under the dark sky that we do! I hope that doesn't change anytime soon.
