The Power of Wind
Approximately 50km NE of us lies what is now known as Alberta's newest and largest wind farm. The Village of Halkirk, is now home to 83 wind turbines, generating 150 megawatts of power. It is definitely 'different' seeing these beasts tower over the landscape.

Prairie Remnants ...
Although summer is gone and 'Fall' has had it's toes stepped on by 'Old Man Winter,' there is still beauty to found on the prairiescape! I love walking through native prairie during all seasons but during the 'Fall' it's so easy to find the remains of what gave the prairie colour not too long ago. These are the remnants of White Heath Aster plants (Symphyotrichum ericoides) and can be found throughout the prairie landscape. They make beautiful dried flower arrangements ... and can easily replace dandelion's in a vase, if you have kids! :)

Papa Moose!
Ahhhh ... meet Papa Moose! This is the 3rd year in a row that I've spotted this handsome looking lad! Judging by his size I would say he definitely 'rules' these parts!

Along the Prairie Road
For some reason or another ... there have been many trips up and down our roads this week! This has caused us to play 'eye spy with my little eye' many, many times!! How often do you think the telephone poles come into effect? With little people ... MANY, MANY times! Haha!
