Blessed

My crew and the 'loves of my life!'  Yes, I was showered with homemade gifts and cards, gifts that they shouldn't have, coffee and waffles but most of all ... and all I need, ... love, hugs and kisses!  There are no words to express how truly grateful I am to have my boys and husband!  On this Mother's Day ... and EVERYDAY, I am just blessed to have them in my life and at my side!  I love 'em to bits!

And with that ... its seeding time and it was back to the field!  LOL!  Our boys helped us fill with fertilizer and canola seed and the remainder of the day was spent under a beautiful prairie sky in and around ... yup, the TRACTOR!

Wishing all Mom's a wonderful Mother's Day!

Murphy's Day!

Hahaha ... 'Murphy' is such a funny guy!  He tried to hi-jack Mother's Day on me and he did a pretty good job! Before 8:00am this morning and about 5 minutes before my husband was done ... 'Murphy' cracked the rim on the sprayer and sent my hubby for a ride down the hillside!  This will be fun to fix tomorrow!

Shortly thereafter, he decided that this lil' heifer should have trouble calving.  All fine and dandy but she didn't really care for the situation.  Hence, I spent a good hour riding through the bush before getting her back to the corral.  Even tonight her lil' eyes were as big as saucers!  Hopefully she calms back down.

Then it was off to load flax seed and calibrate the tank and drill to FINALLY get to the field!  Once that was done, I had an enjoyable 2 hour drive to get parts, all the while missing my lunch!  :(

I returned with parts and the boys finally made it to the field this afternoon!  Alas, 'Murphy' stuck around and tested my husbands patience just a bit longer!  Murphy thought it was funny to plug some of the runs, mess with the run monitors and all and all, just give my poor hubby a few more grey hairs!

Despite all of that, no 'Murphy' can EVER hi-jack Mother's Day ... especially with my crew around!  Yes, it was a crazy, messed up day but it was still filled with love, believe it or not ... some laughter, and family time!  I have the best boys and the most wonderful husband and even if it takes screaming "Geez Louise" in unison at the top of our lungs when stuff goes wrong at least we can make ourselves laugh!  The treasures my children made tugged on my heart strings and their hugs and kisses topped my day!  I hope everyone enjoyed Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while,
but their hearts forever.

There is something so special about 'gifts' from your kids ... they always melt your heart!  Kids pour their heart and souls into the gifts they make and I am very honoured to receive such treasures!!!  My fridge can attest to it!  Today, I woke up to my lil' boys jumping on our bed yelling "good morning, Happy Mother's Day ... we love you!"  With hugs and kisses, we had to hurry to have morning coffee outside so I could be presented with my Mother's Day gifts!  These potted geraniums were made at school and knowing how much I love to garden, the boys were pretty darn proud of their gifts.  They explained how they decorated the pots and how the plant tags fell out so they 'aren't sure if they will have pink or red flowers!'

I've been a Mom for 7 1/2 yrs now and I can't imagine life not being a mom.  The two angels in my life that call me 'Mom' are indeed busy souls but they make me laugh, keep me busy and most importantly bring peace to my world.  I find great comfort in my kids and I am honoured to be their Mom!  With that, I had a super Mother's Day and I hope everyone else did too!
