A Bright Spot
A cool, drab day with a bit of morning rain. However, the apples and crabapples are showing their bright colours of ripeness. Perhaps a bit of apple sauce will be on its way!

The A's and B's
More rain, hence we didn't even move haying equipment home today. Even though the rain makes it tough to hay, the apple tree and my garden beans, along with so many other plants and crops are savouring the water!

With Any Luck ...
In the not too distant future, we will be picking apples and eating some corn! There is nothing better than home grown fruit and vegetables, especially if you can enjoy them alongside something grilled on the barbeque!

APPLES!
UGH!!! It's been a week or two ... perhaps 3 or more, since I really checked on my apple trees! Well ... it looks like I will be picking buckets and buckets of apples over the next few days ... the apples are ready and the trees are loaded!!!

My Apple Orchard!
No, they are not the Mac's, Granny's, or Golden's of the apple world but these cold hardy apples (I believe these are the Goodland variety) are a farm favorite ... especially out here on the prairies! And judging by the number on my trees ... I will have buckets of apples to deal with in a month or so! Applesauce anyone?
