*SIGH* ... the sky is clearing but thanks to Monday's weather 'event,' our green world is about to rapidly change ...

A Step In The Right Direction ...

The rain is still falling but it's R A I N and not that white stuff!  That's a bit easier to take at this time of year!  Despite being cool, the rain clouds are supposed to depart soon and our sunshine is scheduled to return!  

Signs of Change ...

The foliage has been losing its freshness through the month of August, and here and there a yellow leaf shows itself like the first gray hair amidst the locks of a beauty who has seen one season too many ...

Eeeek!  With the wonderful rains we've had, despite the hot, very dry start to July, August seems to be hanging on to a bit of green BUT there is 'evidence' to prove a change is coming! 

Drip, Drop ... SPLAT!

FINALLY ... a fairly warm, substantial and much needed rain!  It's amazing how the trees and grass just seem brighter, cleaner and appear to S T R E T C H upwards after a good Spring rain!  Now, bring on the sunshine and warmer temperatures and this ole' prairie just might burst into a colourful painting!

I know ... it's really here but I was certainly not ready for October ... not yet!  Honestly, where did September go?  

A Frosty Start ...

Brrr ... despite the crisp, frosty morning, beauty still reigns on the prairie 

and the robins are still here!  

But I don't think the Mountain Ash berries will last long!

Fall Is Coming Down The Line ...

It would appear we are only 2 weeks away from officially bidding our summer goodbye!  Enjoy the remaining summer days and have a great weekend everyone!  

Leaves and Snow

We had another dull, grey day that has ended with snow falling and a heavy snowfall warning.  I'm not sure how much snow we will have by morning but I am certain that it will at least be enough to cover the last of the fallen leaves.

The Lone Leaf ...

GASP!!!  .... Nooooooo ... say it is not so!!!  A lone yellow leaf has fallen from one of my trees ... how could this be?  We still have a month of summer left ... right?  Such a discovery required further inspection ...

and even here!  But wait a moment ...

It would appear that things are definitely changing and regardless of my summer time wishes ... the lone yellow leaf will soon become 'many yellow leaves!'  "Bah! Humbug!"
