Blessed

My crew and the 'loves of my life!'  Yes, I was showered with homemade gifts and cards, gifts that they shouldn't have, coffee and waffles but most of all ... and all I need, ... love, hugs and kisses!  There are no words to express how truly grateful I am to have my boys and husband!  On this Mother's Day ... and EVERYDAY, I am just blessed to have them in my life and at my side!  I love 'em to bits!

And with that ... its seeding time and it was back to the field!  LOL!  Our boys helped us fill with fertilizer and canola seed and the remainder of the day was spent under a beautiful prairie sky in and around ... yup, the TRACTOR!

Wishing all Mom's a wonderful Mother's Day!

Harvest On ...

Harvest is starting to wrap up on the prairies!  Just a few more acres to go and the canola will be done!  Hopefully we can tackle the flax sooner than later!

Under The Almost Harvest Moon

Brrr .... WOW!  Who turned the summer heat off today?  Well, didn't we just get a taste of what is about to come weather wise!  Hmm ... it would appear our summer is coming to an end.  Overcast skies and a cold northwest wind howled all day BUT we finished the field peas and started on the canola!

Slowly But Surely ...

Sorry ... another late post, and late it is!  BUT, the field peas are done and we are in the middle of our canola!  I still think my favourite time for harvest is at night!  I love hearing the hum of combines and grain trucks across the landscape and seeing the lights working off in the distance.  It gives you the satisfaction that you know you are not working alone!

Still Seeding ...

Last years pea stubble will soon be a field of canola!  Yes, we are still seeding.  However, we finished seeding our canola today and all that remains to be seeded is a bit of barley!
