Spring Aurora!
The heavens were dancing early this morning and I must say they provided a beautiful and colourful display! The best part of watching the Northern Lights at this time of year is the temperature is warm(er) and there are no mosquitoes (at least not yet!). We are truly blessed to see such an amazing sight just in our own backyard! 2013 is the Solar Maximum! This is a once-in-a-decade opportunity to see the wonders produced when the sun's magnetic power is at it's height! If you would like to learn a bit more about the Solar Max and Northern Lights, I strongly suggest you check out the information from the Canadian Geographic.

DeleteWow! We would never get such grand skies in the south! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteKeep your eyes to the sky Renee. If you guys aren't too close to the city you would be able to see them. There were many nights our Mom hauled us out of bed to watch the northern lights and that was when we lived in your neck of the prairie! They are indeed a grand sight!
DeleteWow! These photos are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you and thanks for stopping by! I am hoping to catch more northern lights throughout the remainder of 2013! :)
