However, unlike the Red-naped Sapsucker I found back on May 4th, this little lady is a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (Sphyrapicus varius). Her nest must be close by, as she is constantly zooming from my Aspen and Maple trees down to a wagon wheel and then over to my Weeping Birch. On such a grey, cool day, her colorful markings were a welcome sight!
