Red Sky at Night, Sailors Delight,

Red Sky at Morning, Sailor's Take Warning!
~Author Unknown

My Mother always repeated this well known weather lore.  And even though I am land locked on the prairies it always seems to ring true!  Those of us in North America typically see our weather systems moving from west to east.  According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_lore#Red_sky_at_night), "if the morning skies are red, it is because clear skies to the east permit the sun to light the undersides of moisture-bearing clouds coming in from the west.  Conversely, in order to see red clouds in the evening, sunlight must have a clear path from the west in order to illuminate moisture-bearing clouds moving off to the east."
Hmm ... the Weather Man is forecasting rain and snow flurries for the next couple of days!
