Unofficially WINTER!

Winter dies into the spring,
to be born again in the autumn.
~Terri Guillemets

It's not often the 'Weatherman' is right (at least we don't give the Weatherman that kind of credit), however, it would appear they forecasted this snow storm bang on!  I'm not sure how much snow we ended up receiving in the end since much of it arrived horizontally thanks to the blustery wind.  I would guess it was close to 20cm, give or take a few centimetres.  Despite the calendar stating the season is still officially 'Autumn,' it looks like 'Winter' is here to stay ... unofficially!

  3. whoa, that is snow!

i enjoyed your poem and your artful photo.

i have heard a number of times that we will have a 'big' winter because of how many bees and wasps we had this past summer. I have no idea how bees and snow or cold is related..... but we will see.

    1. Yes, it appears winter has fully arrived on the prairies Tammie. We had a ton of wasps as well this year ... interesting! I guess only time will tell. I might have to look up 'old wives tales' to see what the correlation to wasps/bees and snow/cold is. Hmm?
